Grand Hajj Symposium
At its 50th edition, the #GrandHajjSymposium continues to establish itself as one of the most important scientific and intellectual platforms dedicated to documenting the evolution of the Hajj ecosystem and shaping its future for more than half a century.

Organized by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in cooperation with the Council of Senior Scholars in Jeddah, this year’s symposium was held under the theme:
“An Active Platform in Serving Pilgrims… Half a Century of Knowledge Enrichment.”
The event brought together scholars, researchers, academics, and experts from across the Muslim world, highlighting how Hajj has evolved beyond a spiritual gathering into a globally recognized model for:
• crowd management
• digital transformation
• artificial intelligence
• crisis management
• and international logistics.
One of the key highlights of this 50th edition was its focus not only on documenting the historical development of Hajj services, but also on exploring the future of managing mass gatherings through smart technologies, data-driven systems, and AI-powered operations.
The symposium addressed several major themes, including:
▪️ Pilgrim services and hospitality
▪️ Religious awareness and guidance
▪️ Scientific research and knowledge development
▪️ The historical memory and documentation of Hajj
Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, emphasized that the symposium reflects the Kingdom’s long-standing commitment to placing knowledge, innovation, and technology at the heart of serving pilgrims and improving the Hajj experience.
Today, through the use of AI, smart applications, and real-time monitoring systems, Hajj management has become an internationally studied model in:
#CrowdManagement
#DigitalTransformation
#SmartCities
#PublicInnovation
#ArtificialIntelligence
The Grand Hajj Symposium is no longer merely an annual academic event; it has become a strategic platform that documents the transformation of Hajj management while envisioning the future of serving millions of pilgrims in an increasingly connected and technology-driven world.
